Linens N Love is a 100% student run organization with members ranging from ages nine to eighteen. We look for responsible students displaying leadership capabilities to take initiative within their communities. These student volunteer Area Directors undergo an application process and are selected by our Board to lead deliveries in their area. Area Directors reach out to hotel managers directly to coordinate donation pick-ups and to charities to organize deliveries for students to attend.
Valencia High School Distinguished scholarWALT DISNEY COMPANYOn the night before admission decisions were released, there was a palpable energy in the air. The six of us gathered around the dinner table to talk about the Big Day. Would I be home at the same dining table next year? Or would I be seated at an entirely different table- a Harkness table, perhaps? Would I be nibbling on the famous Exeter bars and indulging in chocolatey heaven, or wandering the halls of Valencia High School armed with my own baked delights for Fabulous Friday?
I'm excited to have this opportunity to share and celebrate with you all of the recent accomplishments and developments that I've experienced since January 15th. I am proud to make it this far in my journey towards PEA because aside from the letters of recommendation, I have completed every step of the application by myself, including pumping myself up with research, piecing together essays, preparing for my first school interview, and building this website!
Transcendentalist Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “Life is a journey, not a destination.” Working towards this goal of studying at one of the best schools in the nation has been an incredible journey- but I never travelled alone. The application process alone has brought me closer to my community, parents, teachers, and friends who constantly cheer me on and eagerly await for your decision as if they were the ones hoping to study in New Hampshire. So thank you for that.
Thank you for answering my inquisitive phone calls and emails. Thank you for sending Mr. Tilton across the country to meet with me regardless of my body's impeccable timing when I caught a cold (we had to settle for a minimal contact fist bump at the end of the interview in lieu of a handshake). Thank you for this second chance, for this opportunity that made me realize how blessed and supportive my family, peers, and teachers are, and for your time.
It has been an incredible journey.
All my best,
May

Linens N Love's lasting contribution towards its volunteers is the lifelong experience of friendships made during these deliveries and its impact on students. Students gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of their community. Directly after every donation delivery is a tour where students are guided by volunteers of the facility to learn more about the organization they're supporting on that day. Students directly see who they are aiding and understand the importance of their cause on these tours. Following each tour is a reflection activity. These range from a scavenger hunt encouraging students to explore their surroundings, to a sit down seminar with the facility's volunteers and staff who speak with them about their experiences helping victims of domestic abuse, drug addiction, and poverty.
Becoming an Exonian means the world to me. I love the idea of being immersed in a culture with strong academics at its core supported by community spirit and an emphasis on well-roundedness in character.

Yorba linda public library student poetry contest: 2ndAllstate: we volunteer now GRANTI founded Linens N Love, a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization, in 2014. Linens N Love reaches out to high end franchise hotels to request donations of blankets, sheets, pillows, and towels with slight imperfections that were otherwise headed for the landfill due to their lack of meeting franchise standards. These donations go to homeless shelters, animal shelters, women's homes, teen outreach centers, and senior homes. To date, we have donated over 8,000 linens.
